Brennan Harbour Resort is renowned for quality fishing
Our main target species are walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass and perch. However, being part of Lake Huron means the possibilities are almost endless: musky, sturgeon, catfish, dogfish, and largemouth bass to name a few.
We’re located in the Algoma region, on the Whalesback Channel of Lake Huron, near the mouth of the Spanish River. This means you have two great water systems to fish. The Spanish River (FMZ 10) is one of the most productive rivers in Northern Ontario, for walleye in particular, while the Whalesback Channel (FMZ 14) provides the variety of fishing in one of Ontario’s Great Lakes.
The Whalesback Channel has a small lake feel with Great Lake fish. The channel is about 14 miles long by a mile and a half wide. It’s well protected by several large and small islands, with countless areas to explore. We’re the only resort on the Channel and there are only a handful of cottages. So, although, we’re a convenient drive in resort, you’ll be fishing in the beautiful, rugged seclusion of Northern Ontario.
When you check in, we’ll provide you with a map of the water, including local hotspots. We’ll also share other spots that have been productive, depths, techniques as well as answer any questions you have.
